Best Royal Wedding Look: Joss Stone

Been a bit MIA this week, but now a tiny post about a little event that you may have heard about.

I'm not going to talk about the bride, who obviously looked amazing, but my favorite non-royal look of the event goes to Joss Stone:

The color is so hot right now and the hat is amazing. Gorgeous!

Review and Giveaway! Bop It!

Recently I was sent a Bop It! for review. At first, I thought I may have one of my nieces test it out, but it said for ages 8+ on the package, so I figured I would give it a go. Let me tell you something: Bop It! is an insane amount of fun. And, I'm 25. There are two levels and a couple of different ways to play, including a group play that I plan to try out at my next party.

Slight warning: it is addictive. You want to beat your previous high score and may annoy the people around you doing so. They can deal. It is mega.

This would be a great gift for teens.

Want to win one?
Mandatory entry: You must be a public follower of this blog via GFC and leave a comment below with who you would give this to (yes, it can be yourself) if you were to win.

Really want to win?

  • Become a Facebook fan of BBV(link is below the sponsors to the right). Leave a message saying so. (One entry)

Behind the Scenes of BBV

Usually when I do these behind the scenes posts they involve a cat or a wild animal out the window. The other day, I had a little helper in the shop and she wanted me to take her picture with the "big doll":

That's Cali, who happens to be one half of arguably the cutest twins you have ever seen:

They're two of my other nieces. I have four in total. All girls. With Spring Break going on, I have been cursed blessed with spending a serious amount of quality time with all of them.

PS-If you dig that dress(and wear a small/medium), it is currently in the shop, right here.

One of My Cat's Nine Lives is Out the Window

Random, real life moment:

My cat survived nearly being eaten by a devil dog the other day.

The dog literally had him in his mouth. If you read this blog on a semi-regular basis, you know that I have no qualms with being a cat lady. I went into full protective mode and jumped from my porch towards the dog, screaming at the top of my lungs. He took off, without the cat, who didn't suffer any major injuries (aside from being terrified to go outside).

In any event, I'm stoked he's still around.

Hilarious times had by all.

Review: Of the Earth Jewelry

So, I hope everyone has checked out the giveaway being sponsored by Of the Earth Jewelry. If not, check it here.

Randee, from Of The Earth, not only is sponsoring a giveaway, but also, she sent me this amazing necklace for review:

First off, I love the box it came in(sorry, the pic is a bit blurry due to poor lighting, but trust me, it is wicked cute). The little jewel is an adorable touch. Presentation is a big part of the first impression and I have to say this is one of the loveliest presentations I have seen.

The necklace is amazing. It fits my style perfectly, so that's probably a big reason I love it so much, but that's a good thing. The colors look great together and I love the little J charm. It is very versatile and could be rocked with so many things. I am stoked just thinking about wearing it around this summer. I definitely give this lovely piece two thumbs up. You can grab one for yourself(and see some better pictures) for just $18 right here. It would make a pretty cute Mother's Day gift!

You're like, obviously. But this help can be left in the comments below. I am about to get a new phone and I need to know the most IMPORTANT thing, ever: iPhone or Android?

Any opinions below would be aces. Thanks:)

Vintage Clip of the Week: You Can't Take It With You

Kinda amazing clip from about 60+ years ago. Not only due to the fact that Jimmy Stewart (my all-time favorite actor) discusses solar power, all the way back in the 30s, but also his discussion on the sadness of letting a great idea fall by the wayside when life gets in the way.

"It takes courage. Everybody's afraid to live."

And don't get me started on playing on fears in advertising. This clip is pretty sweet(and so far ahead of its time that it borders on unreal), so check it!

When In Doubt, Make Up Your Own Words

I love these quick little clips Yahoo puts together. I love today's even more than usual, as it is Shakespeare related. Sweet facts below:

Oh Well, Whatever, Nevermind

So, EW has a pretty interesting article out today reviewing original reviews for Nirvana's albums. Why today? Sadly, on this day back in 1994, Kurt Cobain's life was cut tragically short.

Review and Giveaway! Yanni 'Truth of Touch'...Closed Winner #12

With Mother's Day coming up, I jumped at the chance to review Yanni's new album Truth of Touch. Moms love Yanni. Hope she doesn't read this, because I think we all know what my Mom is getting this year. Not cheap, resourceful.

So, the disc is Yanni's first release of original compositions in over eight years. He has just launched a US tour on March 22nd, so be sure to check your area for dates. I'm not kidding, Moms LOVE Yanni.

“I work the rhythms in this album,” explains Yanni about the new material. “There is a beautiful complexity in these rhythms, a new sound design. I think the melodic content is very strong and very memorable. I was having fun with this album and that’s going to become apparent.”

The CD is very relaxing. Great music to listen to while doing Yoga. I love the exotic vibe of the tune "Vertigo".  Every song has a nice electro vibe to it.

Want to win it?

Become a follower of this blog and leave a comment below with why you think you should give this to your mother...or anyone else...including yourself. That simple.

Giveaway is open to residents of the US only. It will end April 14th.

This review and giveaway was made possible by One2One Network. I was given a disc for review purposes. The opinions expressed were not influenced by that fact.

Shout Out!

I don't enter a ton of giveaways, but when I do I have pretty sweet luck. Of course, never in ones where you can win a new laptop or a chunk of money, but I have won a few cute items in my lifetime. Just wanted to give a shoutout to My Little Chickadee on Etsy, as I recently enter a giveaway on her blog and won! Today I received a cute mug, Hershey Kisses, and a handmade coaster with an adorable St. Patty's Day vibe.

Cute, right? Be sure to check out My Little Chickadee for more handmade coasters/tiles!
